Methinks I See Thee, Jane: Pate and Faircloth, Book 2 by Jean James and Mary James is a continuation of Jane and Reginald’s mystery solving adventures. Being in love with Reginald is not easy, especially when his father and his ex-fiancée come for a visit and promptly take him away from Jane. Sitting in the back seat is no fun, especially when the love of your life is not paying you any attention. With her pride bruised, she turns her attention to a suspicious case of a missing homeless man and a nursing home where sweet old people are victims of a doctor whose main goal in life is to get rich at all costs. She tries to save the next victim and, Jane being Jane, she takes chances and risks that make Reginald leave everything behind and show her that he too can take risks, but in his own style.
From the get go, I was blown away by the way these two amazing authors write. Simply reading the title gets you in the mood for quirky and fun dialogues and, believe me, there are plenty of them. The novel was effortlessly funny and really well written. Usually, when two writers write together, it is a mess of contradictions and writing styles that confuse me. But Methinks I See Thee, Jane was not. It was quirky, fun and very good. I loved the mystery and I loved the dialogues, because let’s face it, not many writers create good dialogues and banter between characters anymore. This is definitely a 5-star novel for me. I really enjoyed it.
