Merry Kismet by Anneka Walker is a sweet romantic comedy. Brie never forgot Rockwell Davenport. He was her first love, and it broke her heart when he dumped her. But that was right after graduating from high school. Surely, she should have gotten past it by now. After all, she’s now a school teacher, sharing a home with others. A chance meeting in the store prompts her to write a Christmas wish list; obviously, every wish revolves around Rockwell. Five minutes after finishing the list, there is a knock at the door, and who should be standing there but Rockwell himself. He’s only there for the holidays, but he just happens to be living right next door to Brie – what are the chances of that? Will he leave after the holidays, or will he and Brie rediscover their lost connection?
Merry Kismet by Anneka Walker is one of those feel-good romances, a story of second chances that just warms your heart. It’s all go, a short story packed with action, never stopping to let you get your breath. The characters are really well-developed, thoroughly likable people that you’ll fall in love with right from the start. This is Christmas at its best, with all the charm a small-town Christmas romance can muster, and it will evoke the magic of Christmas in everyone, even the hardest-hearted. There are a few twists and turns that keep you on your feet, which makes this Christmas romance different from many others. It’s a case of will-they-won’t-they all the way through and keeps you guessing. Lovely story. I really enjoyed it.
