Mantle Convection by Sava Buncic is an inspiring tale of a man on a quest to reconcile with his past and create a life that matters. Mark has been broken by life in lots of ways; he has loved and lost, and as he struggles to heal his past wounds, he equally works hard to do that which can give meaning to his life. Will he be able to rise above the traumas and pain of his childhood and connect with what he loves most, or will he sink with the powerful emotions that warp his heart? This is something readers will love to find out.
Mantle Convection features some interesting characters and readers will love Mark, Alexander, and Margaret because they are the kind of characters most people will easily identify with. It is interesting to see how the author develops the internal conflict in his main characters, almost always putting them in the dilemma of choices. The author creates emotional and powerful scenes that make readers ask important questions about life, including handling life-threatening situations like terminal illness, the place of friendship when one is called to follow his or her personal calling, and many others. The plot is simple, and might seem to slow down at some points for readers who don’t enjoy many explanatory and lengthy descriptions, but, overall, it’s a story that has many good lessons for readers, ones that will make any reader think. The book is packed with insightful thoughts and powerful reflections on life; one feels the author does more than tell an entertaining story.
