Mama’s Masquerade by J.R. Poulter is an adorable story about a little girl’s observation about her mother. The little girl thinks her mother is the master of disguise, so smart and clever that she need not reinvent herself. She thinks her mother is just perfect being a mama. She goes through the old pictures of her mother and her favorite picture of her mother is when she disguised herself as a Matron of Honor at Cousin Tillitha’s wedding. The little girl also likes the picture of her mother as Elizabeth I when she went to the Charity Ball. The story captures the love and warmth shared between a mother and daughter, and how the little girl observes the transformation of her mother into different roles.
The story is delightful and will appeal to all children as it is relatable and palpable. The illustrations beautifully capture the author’s message and will fascinate readers with its liveliness and energy. What a charming story it is for parents and grandparents to read out to youngsters at night! The little girl also thinks the best role for her mama is that of being a mother. The story will also win the hearts of children while being read out in classrooms and school libraries. The author showcases the love of a mother and daughter through beautiful images and words. The entire story and the pictures are well executed so that the girl’s feelings are tangible to readers.
