Mamarazzi by Brooke Williams is the story of how an aspiring photographer accidentally finds herself in a successful acting career. Danica Bennett has one goal: to become a photographer to the stars. Unfortunately, she’s currently one of the paparazzi, albeit a successful one. Not wishing the world to know her true identity, she seals her photos with a kiss and has been nicknamed 'the Mamarazzi.' Danica attempts to photograph the set of an upcoming show, Cousins, when she is mistaken for an extra. When sparks fly between Danica and the lead actor, Eliot Lane, the crew decides that Danica must play a love interest in the show. Danica and Lane’s attraction grows alongside Danica’s acting career, but Danica must deal with her past without losing all that she has gained.
I read Mamarazzi by Brooke Williams in one sitting because it was that enjoyable. Even though many of the characters were actors or actresses, they were down-to-earth and easy to identify with. Although she’s spent her career surrounded by stars, Danica remains herself and doesn’t try to change for her career, which made me adore her. I appreciated that she was a normal size for a woman, despite being in Hollywood, and that she was comfortable in her size. Lane isn’t a typical alpha male like I expected him to be since he’s a famous actor. Instead, he’s sweet, honest, loves to cook, and I easily fell in love with him. The secrets the characters were keeping kept me turning the pages so I could find out what would happen next. Mamarazzi is a fun romance, and I definitely recommend reading it.
