The pace quickens and emotions intensify between the characters as Travis travels to watch Magdalene compete for the world championship. This novel has strong characters that are captivating and a plot that is rare. Charley Blackwolf is an author that beautifully transfers passion and zeal to the pages to make the characters come alive. I love the cover as it portrays the main character, Magdalene, perfectly.

Magdalene is a horseback archer and she is gaining a lot of attention for her talent. From a very young age, she learned many things including Viking sword fighting and jiu-jitsu. She is making a name for herself in the field so she isn’t surprised when she draws the attention of a man who shares many similar interests. Travis might be a journalist for a motorcycle magazine, but he and Magdalene have a lot in common. Soon he is harboring feelings that he really should not, but the more he talks to her, the more he realizes that they are perfect for each other. But does she feel the same? Can they really be perfect for each other?

I wasn’t expecting this novel to be so interesting and I certainly wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. I thought this story would have very little plot and have a lot of historical references. It does have many educational points in the story, but there is a good plot too, which makes this story incredibly rich and interesting. Magdalene and Travis make an incredible team; they allow their relationship to grow at a pace they are comfortable with and don’t rush anything. The narrative is smooth, the dialogues are crisp and the overall feel of the story is phenomenal. I enjoyed this very much! Brilliantly entertaining.
