In Luminous Nights, Michelle Hart takes readers on a journey in the future. Our mode of transportation is a mail freighter (space ship). Captain Rachel Waters’ task could be compared to the pony express or today’s mail carrier.
Jack Luminous joins her on this flight. He claims to be an Imperial Marshall, much like a US Marshall in today’s world. However, is Jack, who and what he claims?
The action in this book is fast and non-ending. Rachel finds herself in the midst of battle, pulled into a space whirlpool, and transported to a planet in an unknown galaxy. The blue inhabitants ruled by an evil dictator. Neither Rachel nor Jack is team players, but if they are to save the inhabitants and survive, they must learn to trust and work together. However, how do you work with someone you cannot trust?
Hart offers readers a delightful romance, set in the future, in the far reaches of space. The action and romance in this book make it a fantastic read. There is an instant spark between Jack and Rachel, but she resists the temptation allowing the tension to build between them. Jack is a multidimensional character, both good and evil. He is capable of murder and yet cares. Technology in the world Hart has created will surprise the reader. The brain continues to function and communicate long after the body has decayed. There is a mask that can change to appearance of the one wearing it. GRE is her canine companion, sort of. Jet, the genetically enhanced dog, steals the show in this book.
Fans of fantasy/sci fi romance will not want to miss this read.
