"Love's Promises" by Deborah Armstrong brings us into the story of Quinn and Davina Thomas. It always seems easy to make that promise to love someone forever but when life happens and your life happens to be in Hollywood it can be a little more difficult to execute the promise. Quinn made Davina a promise that he was serious about their romance and that what happened in their bedroom would be more real and more genuine than anything on screen. Davina believed that this was a promise being kept. That is until she left the farm and family she loved at home and went to the premier of LOVESTRUCK seeing the broken promise clearly on the silver screen. As if this turn of events and broken promises was not enough, Deborah Armstrong also introduces us to Guy Tremblant, an unstable director who has become a stalker and wants to claim Davina as his own. He has already made an attempt at abduction and an attack on Quinn.
Deborah Armstrong has woven a very real and passionate story in "Love's Promises". It is the sequel to her debut novel "Forever Love" and continues to keep you riveted to what is going on with Davina and Quinn. Things seems to be going smooth and fairy tale like for this newly wed couple who are completely head over feet in love with one another. That is until Deborah Armstrong throws in two plot twists that will put you on the edge of your seat. I can honestly say that even if you are not a huge contemporary romance reader you will enjoy this book. The deepness of the plot is so much more than what we get in most romances. The characters are rich and intriguing. Neither Quinn nor Davina is perfect. Both have very notable character flaws that make them all the more real to the reader. A fine blend of suspense and romance makes this a great read.
