Los Soñadores (The Dreamers) by G. Stephen Renfrey is a young adult paranormal fiction novel. It may be categorized as a young adult novel, but it will easily appeal to an audience with a mix of young adults and older adults who enjoy paranormal fiction. Los Soñadores follows Jesse Benatar, a young man who struggles with the physical and metaphysical worlds, and which is which when he begins to dream of La Soñadora. Jesse quickly deduces the way his dreams and reality seem to connect, but finds himself in over his head, as he has a mentor with a dark past and a 'La Soñadora' in his dreams, which means he has to decide between his desires and his destiny.
Los Soñadores (The Dreamers) by G. Stephen Renfrey was a very interesting book, in fact I have never read a book that could in any way compare to it. Los Soñadores is almost a genre unto itself with how each aspect of it is unique to itself. Los Soñadores has a well-crafted plot line, realistic dialogue, and well developed characters. My favorite character was, without a doubt, Jesse Benatar. I felt like I could sympathize with the choices he had to make between what was predestined for him and what he desired as he had to separate good from evil. I am very glad that I took the time to read Los Soñadores as it is a book I will always remember.
