Hop on for a delightful adventure with Loose at the Zoo. Written by award-winning children's author Dawn Renee Young, this colorful picture book follows the adventures of a young boy named Sam and his beloved pet mouse, Gus. Today, Sam and his family are visiting the zoo. Unbeknownst to his parents, however, Sam has brought Gus in his pocket. Soon after their arrival, Sam is horrified to witness that Gus has escaped from his pocket and is sitting on a rhino. Gus' adventure continues as he makes a nuisance of himself in front of lions and tigers. But Ginger, the giraffe, makes Sam worry the most when he swoops Gus into his mouth. Will Sam be able to get Gus back? Grab a copy and find out.
This book is for all pet owners or even animal lovers in general. Loose at the Zoo takes readers on a rollercoaster of a ride following the escapades of a young boy and his playful pet. Dawn Renee Young tells a wholesome story that is guaranteed to make you laugh or, at the least, get a few chuckles out of you. Featuring some lively artwork by illustrator Kiran, this fun-filled adventure is bound to entertain while teaching a valuable lesson to young readers about keeping their small pets at home. Young's characters are quirky and simply lots of fun to read about. Children especially will be able to relate to Sam, and as a reader, I found Gus adorable. In conclusion, this is a cheerful tale all animal lovers can enjoy.
