Claire Conover was a social worker with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and loved her job. She had a good relationship with her parents and a stable romance with Grant. Rescuing children and finding the best home for them was her routine job, but things were about to get messy. When the office of a mayoral candidate Dr. Marcus Freedman blew up, he escaped unharmed. Unfortunately, Jason O’Dell, a staff member and child of the wealthy Alsbrook family, died in the blast, leaving his infant daughter without a parent. Once again, Claire took up the complicated case that had her investigating, unearthing secrets, becoming a foster mom, and being drawn into a love triangle. Follow Claire’s story in Little White Lies by Margaret Fenton as she solves important cases and balances her personal life.

Little White Lies by Margaret Fenton is a story about secrets, revenge, fidelity, compassion, and duty. This book showcased the dilemma of social workers and the hazards they face in the line of duty. The novel also looked at how multinationals get away with breaking the law while only receiving a slap on the wrist from the government. Unfortunately, this sort of criminality costs people their lives and changes family dynamics forever. James Alsbrook was the ultimate villain who didn’t deserve his son or wife Patricia. The author also sheds light on domestic abuse and emphasizes that parents should not endure a toxic marriage for the sake of their children. It damages, breaks, and burdens the children with the responsibility of protecting the parent. I loved Claire and Reese because their characters were relatable. Margaret is a talented writer, and I’d love to read more of her works.
