The story moves along at a fast pace, requiring you to focus on every word so you don't miss a clue in this thrilling narrative. I wish Grey and Peterson had provided more depth to the detectives, but their banter is interesting. The plot will keep you guessing as small clues are given with each section of journal entries or every interview. It will pull you in and keep you turning the pages as you learn about the terrible lengths people will go to keep secrets. Lake of Secrets would make a great gift for any reader who enjoys mysteries and thrillers.

It almost gives one the feel of a horror story. What type of sick and evil person would drown the babies or were they already dead? There were moments with genius plot twists where I thought I had figured out who the killer was and then Gray and Peterson brought in new suspects!
