Koshi: Dragons of Diversity by Ginny Hendricksen is a wonderful children's picture book. Koshi is enormous, but he’s only a baby inside his egg. When he goes on a journey, he discovers a place called Volantia, a place where lots of other dragons live, all types, colors, and sizes. Every dragon has a unique talent, and Koshi can’t help but wonder if he’ll have one and what it will be. But, although Koshi is huge, he is too shy to talk to the others. When he does, he finds them the friendliest crew of all. Will Koshi fit in here?

Koshi: Dragons of Diversity by Ginny Hendricksen is one of the most educational kids' books I’ve ever read. At face value, it’s a lovely picture book with some amazing illustrations by Marci Cheary, and it's also a great little story. But it goes deeper than that. With the help of parents or caregivers, kids can learn how to make friends. They can learn about diversity, about learning to accept people for who they are and not shutting them out just because they might look or sound different. It’s also useful for teaching kids numbers and colors in a fun way, and it can help them bring their imaginations to the forefront. This is a fun book that kids will love to read, full of color and patterns, and lots of cool dragons that can all do different things. They will giggle their way through the whole story, and they’ll dream of cute dragons for days to come.
