“Katie’s Journey to Love,” book two in Jerry S. Eicher’s 'Emma Raber’s Daughter' series, is a book that draws the reader right into the midst of the family and into the characters’ lives. Katie’s mother has remarried, and not only does Katie find herself a part of a new, large family, but also finds herself feeling replaced at times by her new step-sister. Katie suddenly finds herself being noticed by Ben, a popular boy whom Katie has had her eyes and heart on for a while, but she never thought she would be noticed by him. Katie is given an amazing opportunity and everything seems to be perfect for her, but is everything as it meets the eye?
This is the second book in the series, but could be read as a stand-alone novel; however, personally I would recommend reading the first book first so that you will have the entire story. Both books are excellent and you will not want to miss out on either of it! I have read many Amish fiction books and this series is right up there at the top for being unique and a great read! While reading this I felt as if I was transported right to the Mast home and in the midst of Katie’s life as it is being turned upside down. This is a very well-written book and a story that moves along making it a quick read. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series to find out what happens in Katie’s life.
