Parents will appreciate the words in "A Very Busy Family". "My Little Brother" expresses the author’s love and understanding she has for her little brother. "Bubblegum" will have readers laughing.
"Just Hanging Out" is a collection of poems for children written by nine-year-old Khaya Dawn Klanot. The poems cover a wide range of topics that will appeal to 7 to10 year olds. The book has colorful footprints that lead to entertaining prose. Each poem has a corresponding illustration. One of the unique features of this book is the relationship between who wrote and who illustrated it. This is collaboration between granddaughter and grandmother. Dr. Karen Pirnot and granddaughter, Khaya Dawn Klanot, worked closely together to create a book that will please all readers. Khaya is a talented poet. I look forward to reading more of her work.
