It was to be a routine assignment in Singapore for freelance intelligence operative, Jack Lawrence. Get in, get the information and get out clean. However, things don't turn out as expected when he stumbles upon what looks to be a terrorist plot that could change the world. Suddenly he is in big trouble; everyone wants him dead, possibly even his own government. In a desperate attempt to get away he is captured by pirates and taken to an unknown location. There he meets Annie Blake, a beautiful but abrasive British agent who has been taken along with other young women by slave traders. With Annie’s help he is able to escape, taking the girls along. What follows is a desperate pursuit through dangerous jungles, small villages and later, he and Annie seek refuge in the teeming cities of Indonesia where they struggle to stay alive. As events unfold, they are forced to work together for their survival, and stop a possible nasty plot. Can they stay alive long enough to get it done?

Well, take a little Indiana Jones, some James Bond, and throw in a little Rambo and you get Jack Lawrence, a somewhat complicated man who wants to do the right thing. Jack is a man who doesn’t like to kill but will do so if and when necessary. I really liked the characters of this story and the interaction between them. The plot was very good, just the right blends of action and intrigue right up there with the best of the action-adventure spy stories. Very Good.
