Intermittent Fasting Transformation by Cynthia Thurlow is truly inspirational for the many women who believe that putting on weight, having aches and pains, and being perennially fatigued are all simply signs of getting older. Through a step-by-step discussion of what, why, and how, she shows her readers that they too, like the actual clients whose stories she includes, can positively transform their general state of well-being. In terms that a layperson can understand, Thurlow explains how the body’s systems function and why as a result of our lifestyle, we may not be operating optimally. Then she shows how through intermittent fasting and dedication to a healthier more natural diet, this situation can be rectified and negative conditions even reversed.
Intermittent Fasting Transformation is written in a chatty style, such that one feels that Thurlow is addressing the person reading the book. This personal approach is enhanced by the fact that Thurlow shares her life’s journey to being an intermittent fasting advocate, as well as by the inclusion of illustrative examples from Thurlow’s clients. Moreover, she metaphorically holds the reader’s hand through their 45-day journey to transformation so that no day is without something new to try, be it an exercise or a recipe. I experienced several 'aha' moments as Thurlow’s explanations made something I had been vaguely aware of suddenly make complete sense. I felt that Thurlow’s intermittent fasting program was something I was capable of doing and, in fact, should do. Read the book – it just could be life-changing!
