Interior Design Stories: Curb Appeal is a non-fiction book written with a particular focus on the exterior features of a house. Nadia Strachan, the author of the book, is a qualified architectural interior designer and design lecturer. She has had an opportunity to inspire many students in various areas of interior design and work on an extensive range of projects. Some of the exterior details featured in Interior Design Stories: Curb Appeal include front door dimensions and color, ironmongery, roof detail, pathways, walls, foliage, and windows. Nadia Strachan explains how to creatively develop balance and sight-line to enhance the impression the curb has on both the users of the house and outsiders. She also incorporates a fusion of different styles of design and cultures in her book.
There are many aspects of Interior Design Stories: Curb Appeal that I loved. First, the inclusion of relevant and well-thought-out photos was spot on. The images helped me to easily grasp the ideas projected by the author. I also loved reading the home owners’ stories before studying their interior design styles, as this gave the book a personal touch. In addition to this, I found the ideas in the book really applicable, despite never having studied interior design. Nadia Strachan covers basic and advanced concepts in Interior Design Stories, making the book relevant to both students and experts alike. Reading the book fueled my passion for interior design and I was able to take away innovative ideas relating to enhancing the exterior of a home.
