"Innocent" is a sequel to Scott Turow's "Presumed Innocent" written 20 years ago. It continues the story of Sabich and Tommy Malto. Once again they are pitted against each other. Rusty's wife is dead. Mystery surrounds her death; was it natural, accidental or murder? Once again, Rusty finds himself accused of murder. Rusty, an appeals judge with a grown son, woke up to find his wife of 36 years dead beside him. His wife was diagnosed bi-polar and could go from normal rages to depression throughout the day; he decided to stay with her for the sake of their son, Nat. Rusty finds it impossible to resist temptation and indulges in another affair. Tommy Molto is determined to prove that Rusty killed his wife. He might have skated 20 years earlier on a murder indictment but this time Tommy hopes to make him pay.

I had a hard time getting into this book, perhaps because I have not read "Presumed Innocent". This author reminds me of John Grisham's writing style.
