Imagine That: The Magic Of The Mysterious Lights by George Yuhasz with illustrations by Egle Bartolini is the story of Evelyn, a little girl who is mesmerized by the stars and the wonders of the universe. Evelyn soon discovers that she is seeing lights in the sky that no one else can see, not even her mother and father. The little girl decides to go outside and discovers that the lights are visible again, the ones that no one else sees but her, and a strange voice is calling to her. A magical woman appears in front of Evelyn to help her understand how special she is and how to envision dreams to make them a reality in the future. What goals will Evelyn set? Who is this magical and timeless woman and why did she choose Evelyn? Why is Evelyn the only person that can see her?
Imagine That: The Magic Of The Mysterious Lights by George Yuhasz is a wonderful children’s story with a very unique but interesting plot. The characters are absolutely adorable and easy for children to identify with. I love how Yuhasz has used a magical theme as a means of sending a message to children that ‘knowledge is power,’ and the importance of using their imagination to visualize not just setting goals, but achieving them. I also love how the Illustrations by Egle Bartolini tell the story just as smoothly as the words do. I recommend Imagine That to anyone who has children and loves the idea that magic and dreams are what shape a child’s ambitions for their future. I look forward to many more Imagine That stories by Yuhasz in the future.
