Helen and Philip Franklin are archeologists, and Helen adds a fascinating dimension to their finds: she is psychic and is able to tell whether the relic in question is nearby. Wealthy artifact collector, Thomas Coswell, sends the Franklins to search through Pacific Ocean islands and onto Peru, in South America, for the elusive Ice Queen, Kintunami. Helen is not convinced that the Ice Queen is human, even though they find her image in locations thousands of miles apart. Coswell provides protection for the Franklins as he knows quite well that dishonest Justin Smythe is also after the Ice Queen and will do anything to reach his goal. Will Helen and Philip find the Ice Queen before Symthe's lethal henchmen?

Ice Queen is an exceptionally well-written adventure that will hold the reader's interest throughout the book. The Ice Queen mystery is set up nicely at book's beginning and the plot continues believably with brilliant devices such as the Franklins coming upon the boat that carried the Ice Queen three thousand years ago. Major and minor characters are well created and totally believable, and the use of off-beat humor here and there throughout the story will reinforce the reader's enthusiasm for the story line. That Helen and Philip are madly in love with each other and totally enjoy their sex life is a "pause that refreshes" in a book about searching out an archeological find. This is a book that will not disappoint anyone and will leave many wondering when the author will write his next Franklin Adventure.
