Dawn Wynne is an award-winning educator with more than 15 years experience teaching students from kindergarten through high school, including special needs students, English Language Learners, and at-risk youths. She was recognized and honored with the “Teacher of the Year” award and the “Superintendent’s Award” for her teaching excellence. Wynne earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater at UCLA and holds a Master’s degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University. She has appeared in many television shows including General Hospital, Renegade, and Nightman. Wynne’s short film, “Stalkers,” won numerous awards, including the Audience Choice selection at the Palm Springs and Sarasota Film Festivals. Dawn is embarking on a new journey as she combines her love of education and writing with motherhood, producing her first children’s book, I Remember When. She and her husband, Rob, live in Redondo Beach, California with their young daughter Giovanna.

"I Remember When" by Dawn Wynne and Illustrated by Andrea Vitali is a book that will take you on a journey back down memory lane as you read this to your grandchild. It is the story of two children whose inquiring minds want to know what it was like when their grandmother was growing up. As she takes them on a journey back to her days the children learn about the different things that were quite popular back them. No cell phones or computers, no dryers, or washers. And no CD players or cable TV.
This book was such a delight to read for me that I feel all grandmothers will also enjoy reading it to their grandchildren, as the grandchildren sit next to them and marvel at how things are so different today. This is also a hands on learning book that will help the children to see just what it was like to dial a rotary phone instead of punching numbers. How about a record player, where they can turn the record, or see what it was like to scrub clothes on a washboard. This and other activities help your grandchild learn that the things so easy to use today were just not invented back when you were young. I like the book because of the cardboard feel to it instead of normal paper. This will make for a longer lasting book. The colors are bright and cheery with great illustrations that will delight the child. I would recommend this book for ages 3-6. Would make a great gift for the child’s library.
