In I Have ADHD, So What by Michelle Bradshaw, we are introduced to a boy named Brayden who likes to be called B. He was diagnosed with ADHD and he’s okay with that. While people might think he’s different, his mother tells him that it makes him special. His arms and legs don’t stay still, but his mother tells him it makes him a better dancer; he’s not quiet and plays loudly but that makes him a good actor according to his mom. His energy makes him a better sports player. He might have a hard time focusing, but his mom tells him that everyone learns differently. Despite him being different and having trouble making friends, Braydon’s mother reminds him that he is wanted and loved.

I thought this was a very adorable story that I definitely can relate to as I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was a small child and was a lot like Braydon. I never had a book that explained how what I had wasn’t bad and that it was okay. Honestly, it was so long ago that even my teachers got upset with me. That’s why I love that Michelle Bradshaw created this book. It’s very well written and the illustrations are beautifully done. They fit in with the story perfectly. It’s unique, being the first children’s book on ADHD that I’ve ever come across. I Have ADHD, So What? is a great children’s book that I will recommend to friends.
