He encourages motivational and challenging coaching and advises leaders to understand group dynamics to build effective teams. How to Become an Effective Leader: 8 Disciplines to Excelerate Your Executive Leadership by Michael Brainard is a lesson-filled book with a unique perspective on leadership. Most leadership books list the attributes of a good leader but do not detail how one can put them into effect. They also do not explain how you can mitigate the attributes of a bad leader. This book does both and goes further by providing realistic steps you can follow to achieve this. It contains many models leaders can utilize in various sectors to continuously improve themselves and their teams. The author has added eye-catching and creative graphs and charts that made the book visually appealing to read, and the case studies he wrote were enlightening and educational. I loved reading this book and recommend it to anyone who wishes to be an engaging and effective leader. Great work.
