Hale is unconscious and his friends fear for his life. What he is not aware of is that his friends are battling magical beings to prevent him from falling into the hands of Bayo, the Griffin who killed his family and seeks to twist Hale's abilities to suit his plans for total domination. Hale must decide if he truly desires to assume the responsibility that will come with the prophecies that concern him and if he can trust himself not to be blinded by the thirst for vengeance. Will he choose the path of truth or will old alliances prove too much for him to cut away from Bayo's influence? Only time will tell in J.K. Noble's Hale: The Prophet's Journal, which is the second in the series.
J.K. Noble's fantasy epic maintains a high-energy pace from the outset which blends convincingly well with the storyline of an ongoing battle. The characters in the tale have interesting origin stories that are easy to piece together once you have figured out their motivations. Noble's style of storytelling is unique in the way every little detail of each scene is graphically described, and even the magical creatures are not left out. I could not help feeling as if I was part of the story. What stands out for me has to be the way Bayo's justification for his actions is presented. I just had to sympathize with him. Hale is an immersive story that will hold a reader's attention right to the end. Kudos must go to Noble for this lovely addition to the fantasy genre.
