Author Biography

P.A. Brown is a recent author of non-fiction books. His interests, even from a young age, include ancient stonework and the oddities and curiosities of the world — especially the unexplained. This causes much travel — twice around the world, foot-slogging in remote places in many countries and islands. His longest single flight with two short stops lasted 51 hours — not his favorite flight. Surely there are better ways to travel? Hence my new book.

Hack Your Flights: Complete Guide to Everything Air Travel by P.A. Brown provides a comprehensive overview of air travel, addressing a massive range of topics like luggage regulations, passenger rights, and travel strategies. It discusses the importance of staying informed to enhance the flying experience for all travelers, covering safety regulations, preparation steps, and air travel etiquette. The guide digs even deeper into pricing factors, securing better seats, and handling involuntary bumping, while also talking about more frowned-upon practices like skiplagging to save on airfare. Market distinctions, marketing influences, and safety's critical role in route decisions are discussed, as are safety rankings, audits, and passenger surveys, which are highlighted as essential information sources. In an ever-changing and dynamic travel landscape, the book champions leveraging technology for streamlined travel experiences and ensuring comfort and convenience for flyers.

I grew up in a household with a pilot, so I was immediately drawn to Hack Your Flights by P.A. Brown because the promise of sharing the ins and outs of commercial travel was too great to resist. It is true that in a day and age where the world has become so small that within a matter of hours we can put our feet on almost any part of it, the need for guides to help navigate the best way to get to those places is higher than ever. Hack Your Flights ranges from the incredibly simplistic, like the quart-sized baggies for carry-on products to meal selection, to more advanced topics like airline miles and helpful websites such as Sleeping in Airports and Trivago. The format is straightforward and both easy to follow and, equally important, easy to refer back to. I loved the sections on getting bumped for flight credit and the best chance for a seat category upgrade, and I have no doubt this concise book will be of great help to all who read it. Recommended.
