When Whitney Lane’s father drowned trying to save the life of an arrogant child, Whitney's life with her mother and sister changed dramatically. Sixteen years old is not the age to take on family responsibilities, but that is what is heaped onto Whitney's shoulders. With her mother in a deep depression and a younger sister to have to watch over, Whitney begins to question her own sanity. As feelings begin to overwhelm her, she cannot figure out what they are; some are peaceful and some are chilling. Is someone in the house following her around, or is she really losing it? When her guardian angel finally appears before her, she learns there are powers beyond her control...those of good and evil, and she is right in the midst of it.

This was a book that was very hard to put down. The more I read, the more I tried to figure out who was demonized and who was from the heavenly realm. As a Christian, I do believe in guardian angels and demons, so the book was quite interesting to me. I did feel like the author dragged out the book a little to reach the final conclusion, but all in all, it was still a great read. I guess I was anxious to find out in a hurry who was who. Whitney was so easy to become involved with, and it seemed the more she learned about the other world, the less she seemed to know. As she took on the family role, one could see how she was concerned, not only for her mother but also for her little sister, as she tried to keep her mother’s illness away from her. You can feel the love that she shares not only with her family but also her friends, as she tried to keep what was happening at home to herself. There is really a very deep underlying message in this book in the battle between good and evil that is really prevalent in this world today, and I feel the author did a great job in the writing of it, without going too far out as some do. If you like a good paranormal with a touch of romance in it then I feel you will really enjoy Guardian.
