GraceLin by Abba Lin is the story of a woman who lost her grip on her life and was left floundering. Lin is having a hard time in life. Being divorced at 30 and restarting life at its prime is not the ideal situation for anyone. With her heart broken, and left to make sense of her life, she makes the decision to relocate. So at the age of 33, she moves to Greensville where she unknowingly finds the best life has to offer. It wasn’t easy, it was filled with the biggest challenges she could ever have imagined, but in facing these challenges she found God and His grace. She could always give up, but she was never a quitter, so she does what she always did; she fastens her seatbelt and races toward the challenges thrown her way.

This is an inspirational and very comforting book. Lin is a character that makes you feel like she is part of your family, which in turn makes you invested in her growth. I enjoyed that she never seemed to give up; every time life knocked her down, she would simply brush off the hurt and get back to her feet. The author has done a wonderful job of not only making her a believable character but giving her a strength that we find in the women in our lives. The pace was great, the flow of the story was wonderful and the overall atmosphere was perfect for the story. Lin’s development arc is steady; it builds with the story and reaches a peak with it. This was a wonderful read!

GraceLin by Abba Lin is a mesmerizing story with strong religious themes, a novel that follows thirty-three-year-old Lin as she struggles to rebuild her life after a devastating heartbreak. Lin moves across the country from Hemet to Greensville, California, to be near her cousin, Junebug. But life starts with more challenges than anything she’d imagined when she made the decision to move to Greensville. Armed with her faith and navigating a very complicated landscape, can she find her path? This is the story of a woman whose faith has been tested in many ways, including demons, Ouija boards, rape, loss, and rejection. But the story is written by a divine hand and readers will be thrilled to read the delightful ending.

This is a beautiful story and there is a lot to enjoy in it. The reader meets the protagonist from the very first page and gets acquainted with her relationship with Jesus, and it is this relationship that will console her in the dark moments of her life. The story is fast-paced and emotionally rich, exploring the psyche of the key characters in subtle yet compelling ways. The theme of faith is deftly developed and I also loved the fact that the writing didn’t come across as preachy in this area. GraceLin is infused with pathos, told in a voice that is compelling and compassionate, featuring characters that are deeply human, genuinely flawed, and navigating a world that is filled with temptation and pain. Abba Lin’s novel is inspiring and entertaining, a novel about the power of faith.

GraceLin by Abba Lin is a poignant and captivating story of a woman of faith who suffers great setbacks, encounters darkness, and still finds the strength to stand on solid ground, thanks to her complete surrender to the power of Jesus. From childhood, Lin has developed the unshakeable belief that a life rooted in Christ can't be harmed. Growing up with such faith never stopped her from experiencing a devastating heartbreak. At thirty-three, she is moving across the country after a painful divorce to start her life afresh near her cousin in Greensville. The drive from Hemet, California, to Greensville, South Carolina, brings her closer to Junebugg, but her new life is something completely different from what she'd imagined and she encounters situations that try her faith and test her patience enormously.

This story is rich in many aspects. The characters are real and readers are introduced to spiritual frenzy with evocations of Ouija boards, dealings with demons, and spiritual warfare. The novel explores a variety of themes, including family, the painful reality of death and loss, exorcism, love, and a relationship with God. The writing is deeply moving, with strong lyrical undercurrents and engaging conversations. The plot is simple; the author keeps it real and explores the humanity of the characters. The suspense is biting, especially in those moments when readers long to see what choices the protagonist is about to make. This is a story about the triumph of faith and love. I was pulled in by the way the author explores the heart and the inner world of the protagonist, using streams of consciousness to plumb the depths of her thoughts and feelings. It is a delightful read, to say the least.

GraceLin is a work of dramatic interpersonal fiction with Christian themes and was penned by author Abba Lin. The central drama focuses on the life and emotions of Lin, who begins the novel with an exhausted sense of accomplishment when she packs her life into a U-Haul and arrives in Greensville, South Carolina. From there, Lin and her new life take wild and unexpected turns, through darkness and despair and many a strange circumstance. But as God’s love begins to enter Lin’s life, things change around her, sending a message of love and hope that uplifts her, and readers, from the darkness.

The concept of this dramatic work of fiction is very well constructed and imbued with the powerful atmosphere of transformative Christian fiction on every page. I enjoyed the work that author Abba Lin puts into her characters, particularly in the way Lin is portrayed as a relatable woman with a common past of divorce and heartbreak. Her experiences in her new town of Greensville are a little wacky, but they serve their purpose well in the plot to teach important lessons and allow Lin to develop and meet others in this tale of healing and new hope. The dialogue elements are good and, overall, the story is highly readable. GraceLin comes recommended for Christian fiction, chick-lit and personal drama fans for its multi-layered plot and hopeful message.
