Golden Dreg Boy: The Premier is a work of fiction in the dystopian, science fiction, and action and adventure sub-genres, and was penned by author D. K. Dailey. Written as the fourth novel in the continuing Golden Dreg World series, this is a work that can be enjoyed by young adult and adult readers alike for its gritty realism and high octane thrills, though it does contain some moderate violence pertinent to the plot. In this adventure, Kade has been through some terrifying experiences amidst the rebellious and war-torn world where class divides have turned ugly. Both sides demand his loyalty but choosing either will have deeply destructive consequences.
Author D. K. Dailey ramps up the action to the max in this newest installment of the Golden Dreg boy series, which lifts the caliber of storytelling into a fully cinematic blockbuster epic. It’s been a while since I last explored Kade’s fascinating story in a world of class division, double agents, and intrigue, but I was sucked into this latest episode within minutes of opening the first chapter, and the engrossing and fast-paced plot never let me go. I love how Kade’s emotional sensibilities have grown and matured based on his experiences so far, and the wider cast of friends and family around him have developed their own agency and personality beyond his actions. This makes for a realistic interpersonal drama that forms the emotional core in the heart of the action and makes us really root for the protagonists when things turn ugly. Overall, I would certainly recommend Golden Dreg Boy: The Premier to fans of the existing series as a superb continuation.
