Girl of Shadow by Holly Chavez kept me wanting to read and learn more. The chapters change points of view, switching between characters, but not in a confusing way. I was easily able to tell whose side I was reading. I couldn't help but love the dangerous Izabel. It was great to see that while she was an assassin, she was also a young, vulnerable girl, missing her mom and only wanting a better future. It was very interesting to see how the world would be and how even though there were many rebel groups, they were able to keep their identities from each other. Even in a world that has been destroyed, the poor are still put down and kept poor. I found myself reading late into the night and found it hard to put the book down. This was my first time reading anything by Holly Chavez, but I am glad I picked this up.
