Jana Eisenstein grew up watching Disney romances and dreaming of a storybook love life of her own. After graduating from Boston University, spending her college years sober and dateless, waiting for the right guy to find her, Jana joins George Washington University. With renewed vigor, eager to project herself as a fun-loving gal who knows how to have a good time, Jana becomes a regular at local bars and nightclubs, having casual flings on the fly. Seeking to find the perfect guy, she enters the world of online dating. But the internet is filled with a wide spectrum of people. From face-lickers to toe-suckers, Jana undergoes a plethora of relationships with incompatible men in search of the right guy. Will she get her storybook romance? Ghosted is Jana Eisenstein's memoir.
Witty, clever, and at times, laugh-out-loud funny, Ghosted is an absolute blast to read. Jana Eisenstein writes in an intimate and accessible style of prose that makes the narrative a breeze to go through. Her story should strike a chord with women everywhere as it feels relatable, uniquely authentic, and utterly compelling. There is plenty of humor sprinkled throughout the pages to keep readers entertained. I burst out laughing quite a few times reading this book. You find yourself invested from the get-go, and Jana's story and her dates keep you hooked from start to finish. Her realization toward the end that she shouldn't compromise and lower her standards was my aspect of the book. If you're interested in women-centric memoirs, Ghosted is the book for you.
