Gemini Moon by Maria Grazia Swan is a mystery novel surrounding the consequences of a woman's disappearance. Before leaving Italy, Lella misses a call from her best friend, Ruby. Accustomed to Ruby's unusual calling habits, Lella is unconcerned. However, when Lella reaches her home, she finds that all is not well with Ruby. Larry, a detective, shows up at her door and gives her some disturbing news. Ruby's husband, Tom, has been shot and killed. Ruby is the one who shot him. Shocked and worried, Lella tries calling her, but Ruby is not answering her mobile phone nor her landline. Lella drives to Ruby's house, but she isn't there either. A few days later, Ruby's house burns to the ground. If that isn't enough to worry Lella, her son Kyle is put in jail after he is found driving Ruby's car. Ruby seems to be at the bottom of all of Lella's troubles. The quandary is that Ruby is missing. Where is Ruby?
I really enjoyed this novel, it was fantastic! Gemini Moon by Maria Grazia Swan is a gripping cozy mystery. It is a delightful novel and a wonderful read. I really loved Lella. She is an amazing character. Although Lella is confused by her circumstances, she has a reason. Her confusion comes from the lack of communication and withheld information. The charges against Kyle are never clear, nor is it clear why the police have searched Lella's residence. There is no body, no blood, and Lella is swimming in a sea of misinformation. She deals with it all in true Lella form, with lots of fiery words and tears. Lella is a drama queen and her character is lovable and easily relatable. This is a captivating mystery with a lot of twists and turns. It is a great mystery and I recommend it to cozy mystery fans.
