From His Perspective is a work of fiction in the comedy sub-genre written for adults by author Lisa Keeble. The work takes a playful look at human history from a top-down view as ‘The Boss’ looks down on the universe with his assistant Norbert. Chapter by chapter, we journey through the creation of Planet Earth and the evolution and development of the human race, all from the comical and inquisitive perspective of our far-off onlookers who feel an increasing loss of control over it all. What results is a farcical and witty look at some alternative reasons for history’s biggest moments and also a poignant sideline observation about how we take ourselves way too seriously as human beings in general.
Author Lisa Keeble writes with smooth confidence and a sense of timing which is rare in written comedy fiction. Even when you see her jokes coming, there’s always an additional sting in the tail or a wry aside to offset your expectations, which keeps the reading experience fresh throughout. The Boss and Norbert are favorite characters to treasure for a lifetime, whose banter and pithy dialogue are sure to stick in your head and come back to you throughout the day to put a smile back on your face. The choices made for which areas of history to cover are refreshing and topical, and there is always a quiet intelligence at play that makes wonderful points about society today. Overall, From His Perspective is an unmissable read for fans of tongue-in-cheek satire at its best.
