Froggy Boots Go With Everything is a creative and fun children’s book written by Jill Zabkar Martin and illustrated by Kristen Gaede Van Mourick. A young boy just loves his froggy boots and is proud to wear them everywhere he goes. He has adventures in the rain, at the pool, in the bathtub, on the moon, at the zoo and in each of his favorite places to play. There is also a small green frog that accompanies the boy in his fantastic adventures by following him from page to page throughout the book. At the very end of the book you will find a neat page listing the items that a child can search for while reading the book.

I found this 16 page children’s board book to be more than just a picture book but also a learning tool for teaching cognitive and recognition skills in young children. The illustrations are well done and make the book come to life with bright colors and unique action scenes. I can appreciate that the boy loves his froggy boots, and they lead him through many adventures and everyday play. It is a very simple book with very few words; however, a very young child will completely comprehend what the book is portraying. They can relate to their favorite comfort item that they carry through their early years and take on adventures also. I wanted to test the book out, so I read it to a group of children ages 2 to 5 years old. The children sat for the entire story and loved to point at the pages and laugh. They could relate to the story and said recognition words such as bathtub, hat, blocks, boots, frog, rain, etc. Jill Martin does a delightful job in writing this wonderful children’s book that can be read in a preschool setting or at home.
