Author Biography

Ian O’Regan was born in Louisiana, but has lived much of his life in South Texas. He currently resides just outside the San Antonio city limits with his family, two truculent cats, and a Welsh dog with an Irish name born on Australia day.

He is well known (in certain circles) for his addiction to Sour Patch Kids candy as well as his ridiculous yet very real fear of marionnetes and ventriloquist dummies.

Mr. O'Regan assures us the second Denton Rourke novel will be ready for release in January of 2012.

For Whom The Curtain Calls by Ian O’ Regan is a humorous mystery that the reader can quickly get hooked on. Denton Rourke teaches English at the local community college and in his spare time helps the police department solve some penny-ante crimes. Now they need him again and this time he will actually get paid to solve the crime. When they find a body at the local theater it looks like murder, and the left arm is missing. Between his girlfriend about to reach her limit with him, more bodies turning up and Denton kidnapped, can he get this solved before anyone else turns up dead? From a Rock and Roll band to an Ostrich Betting scam, Denton hopes to get to the bottom of this and prove to Beth that he really is sane and worth the effort.

This is a fantastic read that I found very hard to put down. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the antics that Denton gets himself into especially when he tries to talk his way out when he is accosted by two thugs. I found the book to be humorous with an unpredictable mystery. It is cleanly written with just a couple of curse words that does not distract from the reading of the book. If this is any indication of Mr. O’Regan’s other books then I have found a new author to follow. I like his style of writing and am anxious to see if he is going to have a series of Denton Rouke novels.
