Terri Ann Leidich takes the anguish of losing her son and pours her heart out in a series of poems that are poignant and raw. Photos face each page of writing, obviously chosen carefully to coincide with the mood of the words.
Each poem has the pulse of her mood, her thoughts, her emotions as she struggles through the grief and loss of her youngest son's tragic and abrupt death. As each poem progresses, Mrs. Leidich draws the reader in.
This book was written as a tool for others who have lost a loved one. In the front is a page where To From and Date are provided as an intimate touch that will make it a personal gift to the receiver, something they can keep and cherish.
Having lost my own grandfather just last year, it was easy to fall in to the waves of invisible tears, the heartbreaking sense of void and the strength of coming to terms with it all.
I found myself revisiting the phases of the last year, identifying the cause, dealing with the loss, not wanting to let go, letting go and finally accepting. The words she has written are sometimes simple and few, but the power of those words are tremendous! Only a person who has lost a loved one can understand or get to the heart of another who has lost a loved one.
This poetry collection is an intimate, thoughtful and respectful treasure that will be appreciated by many for years to come. Thank you, Terri Ann Leidich, for sharing. The world is better for your insight.
