In a post-apocalyptic future, the country has changed to a nation of walled cities where status means everything. It is sharply divided between Influential’s, those that have everything, the Industrial’s, those that work for the upper class and the Illegal’s, those with no status. With soovie parks, death doctors, and fear bombs, the future is indeed bleak. A young girl, with a special gift, is on the run from the government that wants her secret and a crazed bounty hunter that wants her dead. With the help of a street-smart illusionist, Razor, she begins to lean about her past, and her unique gift. Caitlyn has a hard choice to make, to keep her freedom, or to sacrifice herself in an attempt to change human destiny.

"Flight of Shadows" is a very well written book. As with good post-apocalyptic stories, it brings the reader along showing glimpses of an all-too-possible future. The characters are very intriguing, allowing the reader to decide if they are good or bad. The dialog is excellent showing how great the divide is between classes. Overall, a terrific story and a pleasure to read.
