Fire Triangle is a suspenseful romance novella written by Iyana Jenna. During investigations into a spate of arson attacks, and with each adding to an already-high body count, two fire investigators follow leads into the murders, which take them back as far as 20 years. Their investigation leads them to a young Deaf boy, Devin, who is the key to solving the mystery of the arsonist/murderer. Six-year-old Devin had been unable to convey the horrors of that night, too traumatized to convey what he’d seen the night that his family had died. But when interviewed by investigators 20 years later, Devin uses sign language, in order to convey the horrors surrounding his family’s murders, and does everything possible to help track down a chronic psychopath – Sebastian – before he strikes again. The investigation leads Sebastian straight to Devin, who must – once again – use every single skill set he has to survive.

Iyana Jenna’s incredible tale of an investigation into arson attacks, combined with homicide, is action-packed and filled with action and suspense. As separate storylines combined, I initially felt Fire Triangle might be challenging to understand, but by the third chapter I could easily see how each of the storylines blended into one single, sinister plot. Juggling the past with the present, the story slowly unfolds, as a wonderfully endearing character turns out to be not quite what he had initially seemed to be. Broken romances, tragic deaths, fires, investigations, adoptions and brotherly love all come together, creating an unforeseen future for a child who’d survived tragedy, only to become a formidable force all of his own. I thoroughly enjoyed Fire Triangle and recommend it to readers who enjoy action, intrigue and a whole lot of suspense in their murder-mystery reading.
