Adam Brown was born on February 5, 1974, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and died a hero, a Navy SEAL Team Six member, on March 17, 2010, in the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan. He left behind a wife, Kelley, whom he dearly loved, two treasured children, a ten year old son Nathan and a seven year old daughter Savanah, a mother and father, Janice and Larry Brown, an adored older brother Shawn and a twin sister, Manda. Adam also left behind a legacy of bravery, of overcoming great odds, for when Adam was just out of high school, he became hooked on drugs and nearly fell by the wayside. Childhood friends like Jeff Buschmann and Heath Vance stood by Adam as he battled his addiction and strove to meet the qualifications for joining the Navy and ultimately the Navy Seals. Adam's story is that of a boy who always pushed himself harder than was thought possible, and from his own money as a SEAL, he gave the children of Iraq and Afghanistan around him the food and the clothing that they needed. When he was a young boy, Adam stood up to bullies and as a Navy Seal he courageously stood up for his beliefs, making the ultimate sacrifice on that day in March 2010.
"Fearless" is a brilliantly written biography of Navy SEAL Adam Brown who has highways and foundations in his name and even a television documentary made about his life. Adam had his faults and a terrible struggle against addiction that lasted for years. He suffered the loss of an eye and had his hand maimed in a Hummer accident, but he never lost his fearlessness. Warts and all, Adam Brown is a true American hero, the stuff of which legends are made and he is a legend to many people who knew him or just have heard of him. That it was his group of SEALS, Team Six, who were able to finally kill Osama bin Laden brings justice to Adam Brown's short life.
