"Fear is in the Air" is a quirky read featuring a main character who is a flight attendant and a serial killer. She has her reasons, as we find out in the chapter where she gets even with the man who killed her parents and raped her. The book leaps from murder to murder with interesting and unusual vignettes from the heroine's life, such as a Star Trek wedding and a Stonehenge funeral/christening thrown in for flavor and fun. We meet a mysterious character named Adam Skai at an elaborate Star Trek Wedding in Las Vegas. He gives hints that the protagonist Ewa Lowe has alien DNA in her but this thread in the story never comes to fruition in this portion of the story.
I found "Fear is in the Air" by Eva Newermann to be a quick and delightful read. It is entertaining and informative in specialized quirky areas like medical terminology, Stonehenge, and astronomy. It is also a nice snapshot of what the life of a stewardess is like working for a small airline that caters to the rich and only offers first class service. The character kills people a little too cavalierly for me to fall in love with her but you can't help but like her a little because she is just so interesting. If there is a plot or conflict in this story I assume it will be revealed in the second book.
