Fate (Sacrifice) by A.C. Heller is the story of Chasca Leon who is brought up in foster care. She leads a normal life and then gets kidnapped. She is such an ordinary person that she is unable to understand why she has been kidnapped. The two handsome militants who kidnap her actually protect her and keep her safe. Chasca realizes that she belongs to the Nephilim bloodline and she is part of some ancient prophecy. She starts believing in fate, which she never believed in before.
The story is very interesting as well as intriguing and adventurous. The kidnapping sets the scene for a lot of emotions and turmoil and sets the pace for an action story. The story is filled with suspense, especially since it commences with the kidnapping scene. The book has romance, action, and intrigue woven together with skill. Being an orphan, Chasca's past, present, and future is a big question mark and it is written in the ancient prophecy which she does not want to know or believe.
The theme is unique. The book is a combination of many emotions that are not exactly conventional. The story also takes a lot of unusual twists and turns, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. The story is subtle, yet at the same time fast-paced and evokes curiosity in the reader. The best part of the story is that the two kidnappers are presented in an endearing manner.
