Embody by Sonee Singh is a collection of profound and spiritually uplifting verses that were born as her creative response in the wake of the pandemic surge. These verses explore the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conundrums she faced that brought about an enlightening transformation. Her poems are organized into the seven chakras--energetic centers in our body plane. Her first poem, Security, for example, focuses on the anchorage or stability of the physical chakra, a meditative poem offered in an enigmatic manner that focuses on the formative importance of our ever-evolving perception. These are verses of self-discovery, definitive moments in the author’s journey through life; her journey is your journey, too.
Sonee Singh celebrates the power of consciousness and existence and puts this into compelling verses, inviting us to connect with similar experiences that celebrate the joy of being human. She has a thrilling sense of wonder, which is an important point in living. The power of Singh’s collection makes her a poetic force to be reckoned with in her own right. She speaks to the reader intimately, giving them a sense of exclusivity in glimpsing the inner workings of her mind. Given that her poetry has its profound roots in esoteric knowledge, her verses feel like they illuminate parts of your life—a common feature in her poems that I personally consider as its most appealing quality. Seekers of deep knowledge will find common ground with Singh as Embody will strongly appeal to them.
