When the State Department asked Mat Briscoe, a tech whiz, to investigate David Pedersen, a potential candidate for an ambassadorial position, she had no idea what she would uncover. While working on a request from a new client, Mat stumbles upon secrets that threaten to break up two seemingly unsuspecting families. But what piqued her interest was the connection of the two families to Pedersen. It turns out Pedersen had fallen out with his ex-wife over a scandalous affair, one which he had gone to great lengths to keep out of the public eye. And, as Mat learns, perhaps he may have gone a little too far. In local law enforcement’s records is an unsolved murder dating back three decades and directly linked to Pedersen and his ex-wife’s affair. What secrets does Mat discover about the two families and the unsolved murder? Find out in C. V. Alba’s E-llegal Connections: Mat Briscoe Series Book 3.
Lovers of mystery thrillers and crime will enjoy C. V. Alba’s E-llegal Connections, a gripping tale of dark secrets, betrayal, deceit, sacrifices, family drama, underworld networks, murder, and more. Alba unfolds a layered, intriguing plot on a multi-perspective timeline, giving the narrative a beautiful flow. The subtle tone of the story, alongside the spell-binding plot twists, hooked me. The evocative depictions colorfully brought the scenes to life, making me feel like I was watching a contemporary Hollywood crime and mystery thriller. The sharp, insightful, and enthralling conversations gave depth to the well-crafted cast’s conflicts and complex traits and allowed me to experience their emotions. All this made it easy to connect with them. Albeit this is the third installment in the series, this page-turner is a stand-alone read. I loved it.
