There are many ways to interpret what poetry is, and Stuart Jay Silverman, the author of the collection Drifters, has a clear idea of what writing poetry means to him. As he himself explains, poetry is not so much a way to express oneself but rather a creative art, and Drifters clearly reflects this way of thinking. Silverman's poetic collection is not dedicated to a single theme but deals with many topics and addresses them by dividing them into four sections. In each poem, the reader will discover the world of Silverman and will surely be fascinated by it.
I am an eager reader of poetry, and in my life, I have read many books both by classic and contemporary authors. I do not remember ever having found a collection comparable to Drifters. I immediately liked the idea that Stuart Jay Silverman considers poetry a creative art, and I was curious to read how he would put this concept into practice. My impression was that there is a whole world in Drifters. The fact that there is no specific guiding thread means, as a consequence, that the poems offer a variety of states and situations, which reveal Silverman's ingenuity. In my opinion, Drifters is a collection that will impress readers for both the originality of the writing and the images it evokes, especially in the first part. I am sure that all lovers of poetry will find something special in Drifters, and my recommendation is to read this wonderful collection as soon as possible.
