Dreamfruit Lunar Tales for Earthlings by Elizabeth Russell is an odyssey spanning thirteen lunar cycles, symbolizing transformative narratives in personal and collective earthly realms. The eco-spiritual expedition advocates radical belonging through three pathways: Magical Animism, Natural Time, and Deep Imagination, harnessing empathy, cosmic attunement, and symbolic nature communication. Progressing through Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, the narrative softens outdated ideas, embraces a new paradigm, involves surprising shifts, promotes self-care, and solidifies renewed visions. Guided by astrology's degree symbols, particularly Sabian symbols, each moon introduces unique themes, encouraging perspective shifts, adaptation, and commitment to collective well-being. Culminating in the Thirteenth Moon, readers confront Earth's imperilment, prompted to spin the Wheel of Fortune and take action, concluding with an invocation to envision a harmonious world, stepping through the gate into the dawn of a new Deep Time.
“Our fates are linked. Together, we make a whole.” Dreamfruit Lunar Tales for Earthlings by Elizabeth Russell is excellent in how it provides a comprehensive look at the entire year, offering a holistic view of our annual transformative journey, both on a personal and collective level. Each piece is adorned with a sketch and its title and concludes with journaling space. Russell's book is my first introduction to the concept of dream logic and the suggestion that dreams and symbols can be utilized to gain deeper insights and guidance. I can appreciate the skill required to take a rather complex concept and make it accessible to someone like me, who had no prior understanding. This extends to the personalization Russell encourages with practical rituals and techniques, making the journey interactive and asking us to explore our own methods. The writing is beautiful and resonates deeply on a philosophical level, and overall, I just love how I feel reading it. Very highly recommended.
