Written by Ronald Travis Lund and co-authored by Lorna and Larry Collins, Dominic Drive is a nostalgic look at life. Dominic Drive is a sweet, postwar community in Southern California; it is a pleasant place to grow up and live. The children play outside until dark, and your neighbors are not just friends but are considered family. In the early 1960s, the neighborhood is forever changed by a homeless teenager. Through a series of hardships and heartbreaks, Charlie Williams finds himself alone, living out of his car and working at the bowling alley. There Charlie befriends a young boy. Their friendship is unique and special, and soon they become more than friends; they become brothers. Charlie leaves a legacy to the community of Dominic Drive; his love, sincerity, and dedication are never forgotten. The orphan boy, who came to live on Dominic Drive, left an eternal mark, and his story still lives on today.

Written in the style of a memoir, Dominic Drive is a sentimental journey into simpler times. The authors capture the essence of community and friendship in their storytelling. The setting is quaint and inviting, and the characters are quintessential of the era. The narrative is told from the first-person point of view of a nameless character. Although the narrator’s name is never revealed, as a reader, you know and befriend him. The entire cast of characters is affected by the protagonist. Charlie has a pleasant disposition, a character beyond reproach; you cannot help but admire him. Despite his challenges and hardships, Charlie makes everyone feel good. Dominic Drive is a story of love, devotion, and family, proving how one person can make a difference in countless lives. Ronald Travis Lund has gifted readers with an incredibly inspirational story of bygone days.
