J.R. Wirth is an award-winning author and native of Southern California. Raised in Azusa, he now hails from San Bernardino. J.R. is recognized for his extensive work in the helping field. He is a licensed psychotherapist with a long list of accomplishments, including a 15-year stretch as a domestic violence counselor and trainer, and head of a disaster response team. J.R. had a stint as a university professor, and even spent time as a child abuse investigator. All of J.R.'s experiences have contributed to the authenticity of the characters and scenes in his writings.

JR Wirth has set Destiny's Lot, A Halloween Love Story, in a time when life was simpler. There was no social media, mobile phones or email. People actually had to use a dial-up telephone, write a letter or communicate face-to-face. Children congregated together and interacted with each other, climbed trees, rode bicycles, and knew when curfew was. They enjoyed wonderful personal interaction. In Destiny's Lot, our young hero, JR, has a crush on Destiny and gathers his courage to ask her out. They set a date for Halloween night and JR is excited. He needs to take his younger siblings trick-or-treating first, but this is a minor obstacle to him; he has a date after that. After a busy work day, with a few surprises, JR sets off with his siblings on a trick or treating adventure that is about to head sideways. Unfortunately for JR, a date with Destiny is exactly what it is.
This is a strange twisting tale by JR Wirth in Destiny's Lot, using the common practice of Halloween trick or treating. The book is filled with surprising and scary twists and turns and you never know what to expect next. A creepy Halloween story set in simpler times before the advent of major technology, which makes it even more creepy. From one page to the next, you are never sure what to expect and each chapter takes you through a fascinating look at the fears faced by many on this well celebrated and usually enjoyable holiday. I'm not so sure about that anymore. Fast paced and original, this tale is sure to delight all horror fans!
