“Demon Paradise: A Birthday Surprise” by Marie Knight is a tale of secrets, love and power. The hidden realm of Demon Paradise is falling to ruin after the royal family was thought to all have been killed and an evil demon has taken over. But before her death, the queen sent her children into the human realm, erasing their memories of their magical past. A young wolf demon is sent into the human realm to find the heir to the throne and his siblings. But why Amaya? She has no magical powers. Upon reaching the human world, Amaya meets Kiba Grey, a hot and handsome senior at the school she attends. She knows he is the missing heir, but is forbidden to tell him. Evil lurks in the woods, and Amaya must find a way to get the heir to the throne safely back to Demon Paradise, for until he touches his rightful crown, he will not know who he truly is and the realm will continue to suffer. What other secrets are hidden from Amaya? Why is she so attracted to Kiba?
It is so full of magic, dragons and shifters that I was lost in the fantasy of good vs. evil, hoping that love could conquer all before it is too late! Marie Knight created sub-plots that enriched the depth of the story: some parts are humorous, some are touching, while some are pure evil. The characters play their parts well, with personalities as distinct as the color of their fur! A delightful escape into fantasy!
