Deeply Flawed: The Zombie Apocalypse by Ro Ruffalo is the second book in the Jasmine Kincaid Mystery series. In this entry in the series, readers are introduced to Detective Jasmine Kincaid who has to save the city by stopping a deadly and sinister sociopath who has a devious plan. Prospero, an evil alchemist, has just released a new drug called Primal, a drug that makes users experience the greatest highs. The only problem is that it provokes an unbearable hunger to feed on human flesh. Detective Jasmine Kincaid already has a lot to push her to the edge of insanity, including troubles with her little sister, her boyfriend with a dark secret, and now, she’ll have to deal with Prospero. And it’s a race against time.
Just the idea behind this story hooked me because of its originality. I fell in love with the lovely Jasmine, and after reading this book, it’s as though an image of her is tucked in my head, her sexiness and determined face, and this could mean only one thing: Ro Ruffalo did an awesome job with character development. The second striking thing about this novel is the magnitude of the conflict. I enjoyed the fact that the lives of many people are put at risk by a reckless invention and that the protagonist is boxed into a very tight corner. The villain is well-developed as well, and the reader is keen to discover his next move. The writing was excellent and the pacing just right to have the reader turning the pages. Deeply Flawed: The Zombie Apocalypse is an entertaining and gripping series to follow and Jasmine Kincaid is one of the most attractive and sexiest female fictional characters I would love to follow.
