Deceit of the Mind – Quantum Evolution is the third novel in The Deceit Series by Henry Cox. After the events of Deceit of the Earth, Benjamin Oliver is now a legal trustee of advanced technology that the US government wants. While the legal battle continues, something strange was about to wreak havoc in the lives of Benjamin and co. As the past, present, and future begin to tussle for control, Benjamin and his team try to make sense of the world before it all crashes down. Quantum science was tough, yet so simple. Anything could happen; it was only a matter of time before the world knew who was worthy of survival.
No one writes conspiracy thrillers as well as Henry Cox. His stories are mindbogglingly intricate, tense, and filled with suspense. Somehow, Henry made quantum science easy to understand. I hate technicalities yet I loved every second of this new installment. Benjamin was the perfect anti-hero to take the lead. He was calculating, cunning, and intelligent. He understood his limitations yet he played with his opponents masterfully to get the results he wanted. Benjamin was a man of honor though, so that was his saving grace.
The plot was complex with layers upon layers that readers had to peel away to get to the bottom of the issue. It wasn’t as overtly graphic as the previous novels in the series; Deceit of the Mind – Quantum Evolution was heavy on plot development, twists, and sheer brilliance of narrative. Henry Cox somehow was able to tie in loose ends, create opportunities for twists, and still carry the story forward without confusing readers. That, in itself, was a great feat. A true maestro with words, I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys thrillers!
